yeah and 83% of gamers play online many of them exlusively with 0 interest in singleplayer games (i know many like that) so it makes sense most of the movement will be in the space that

and i also think some genres have specifically changed too, the RPG genre which before was dominated by turn basef combat has been mostly all replaced by Action RPGs (Final Fantasy 7 Remake for example)

- battle royales
- soulslike as a separate genre
- bullet heaven
- the new wave of co-op horror springing up from lethal company
- all VR games
- the merging of JRPG and WRPG which has no new genre name but its significant
- clicker/idle games
- sandbox games

feel like for a good bit of that 15 years major focus was on graphical improvement/ getting as realistic as possible and now that people realize a good artstyle is more timeless than trying to go as realistic as possible the industry in changing in other aspects aswell but yeah i kinda agree

what should change? the ps5 controller has like the haptic feedback thing and sorcial features with ps5 games like blowing onto the controller to make something happen ingame but i dont see what they could go further with, overcomplicating it scares away the average consumer

the xbox one is very bulky on the sides (where you grab it) and it doesnt feel good to hold also joysticks being one up and one down is uncomfortable. while the ps2 one is smaller and more symmetrical, i think my biggest problem is just the size tho
