The Terrible Aussie

Just when you think that’s nothing left to see of Elvis Presley, Baz Luhrmann’s latest is a terrific music film that beautifully restores and constructs its never before seen footage/music performances to great effect. The King’s concert scenes were especially both electrifying and exhilarating. 4/5

The 7th entry isn’t up there as one of the best in the series, it’s definitely far from the disaster that most of making it out to be. While the script could’ve been stronger and the killer reveal was weak, it’s still a really enjoyable sequel that solid cast, cool gore and fun set pieces. 3.5/5

Between this and THE NAKED GUN, it’s nice to see parody films making a comeback. While not great by any means, this was still an enjoyable, silly and very funny pisstake on period costume dramas that has a good mix of high-brow & low-brow humour. The cast are clearly having a good time here. 3.5/5

Just arrived the the Melbourne Arts Centre to check the Heat My Eyes performance of the film TERMINATOR 2: JUDGEMENT DAY. Should be a great show!

Leave to director Josh Safdie to make a film that could have easily been a straightforward sports film, instead it becomes an absolutely thrilling and darkly comedic crime film that just keeps escalating throughout. It’s brilliantly made on every level and Chalamet gives a true career best turn. 5/5
