AI is so overhyped lol

I will support human artists to the best of my abilities. because humans can put a couple things into art that an AI never can.
and that's heart, and soul.

anyways tl;dr
use gen AI for funny things for yourself
don't use it to replace artists
and support the human artists. (and I don't mean those who call themselves "AI Artists" or "master prompters" or whatever the hecc AI tech bros are calling themselves atp)

it's also to be lazy and to save money. and companies (like Coca-cola) will do whatever it takes to cut costs, even if it means replacing an entire department with a set of algorithms they call "AI".

genuinely I hope the hype to AI generated media dies down a lot because it harms artists more than it helps.

I mean there are valid use cases such as having AI generate something in a pose in case you have difficulties making a pose, but that goes into 'assistive ai' than 'ai replacement'.

and then it gets to those people who think AI is way better than artists and that we should all use generative AI. all because it's "innovative". the last time innovation was mentioned with stuff like this we had NFTs and look where that went.

because of this it leads to really having to look to make sure something is actually drawn and not generated by an AI, but even then because it's rapidly improving, its very hard to tell and it now just leads to real artists being called out for AI because of a small detail that a human can do.

Personally, 'AI' generated media shouldn't be as widespread as it is.
I mean it's cool to see how a algorithm can generate media like it can now, but the problem lies where people will replace the human element as much as possible for media, and I think the trend should've stopped before this point.

still enjoying my time on Linux. and I have no idea why I didn't start using it before. still waiting for the day someone manages to get uwp and gdk stuff working fine on linux, cause then I can delete Windows

a big brand put "limited edition" so people are gonna go nuts to buy it. so really it's special because their name is on it and it has that fomo element to it. it honestly could just be one of those you find at any store just with their branding slapped on it so they can charge $30 for a $5 cup

AI 'artists' are scared of pencils. this fact is true.

I wish this was a joke, but I've seen many comments in posts on people who are disabled and basically have their only source of food be from SNAP. it's like telling a blind person "hey come look at this!"

it's reminding me why AI everything is annoying.

first hand, they removed the option to have three swipe gestures and made it so you can only use one bar or swipe from the edge. and the only way to get this option back is by installing navstar.
