so let me get this straight: america condones non-citizens receiving food at the cost of citizen taxpayers?

I really didnt want to make this post, but Im at my wit's end and I dont know what to do. A few weeks ago, some teenagers were throwing rocks at a white truck and a rock ended up hitting the frame of my rear passenger window and caused it to bend, as well as shattering the window itself. I had to open a new credit card and pay $650 to get the window frame fixed, and while my mom's insurance got me a lower price to fix the window itself, I still have to pay $226 (potentially more with the mobile service fee), which I'm using the same card in question. My mom has graciously paid for half of the window repair, but despite that its still close to $800 I had to pay for repairs that weren't even my fault.

This isnt super urgent by any means as it was on a credit card, however I'm already trying to pay off two different CCs and my hours at one of my jobs aren't the best. I recently started a second job, but my paycheck from that job wont come in for a while. I want to at least get the car Credit Card stuff paid off as quickly as possible, so I decided to open up all of my commission types indefinitely! Im trying to get verified on Vgen so Im most likely going to take them on there, but Im also more than willing to take Kofi, PayPal, Cashapp or Venmo! I also have adopts available for sale on my Toyhouse, and Im also going to start a goal on kofi if anyone just wants to donate. I also slightly raised the prices on my commissions in hopes of the goal being met sooner than later (that and I've been meaning to do it anyways.). Any form of help is apperciated, whether its commissioning me, buying a character, donating, or even just spreading the word.

Thank you so much for reading. I try not to ask tor help since it makes me feel vunerable, but I can't keep going at the pace Im going right now.

oh i should also say, the same applies to big businesses. huge companies obviously prioritize operating where there's a huge profit to be made. taxes don't change the fact that more people = more money, so in the majority of cases these companies will ultimately just suck it up and pay the tax.

of course, some people would never want to live in a huge city regardless of its benefits, but these rich people have the means to live wherever they want. if a rich person would rather live in a low-tax rural area, they'd already be doing that lmao. a tax increase alone doesn't push them out.

if i didn't need to worry about my cost of living and had a ton of money to blow, of course i'd choose to live in Awesomeville. even the heaviest proposed taxes on the richest citizens in a city are generally not actually enough to make them give up easy access to the city's benefits.

the "we can't tax rich people, they'll move away!" argument was never a good one, but it ESPECIALLY doesn't work when said rich people live in huge cities full of entertainment and quality of life. they don't want to move away because that's where all of the stuff is. it's really that simple.

i think it would be helpful for voters to know not only how much funding a candidate's campaign received and its primary sources, but also how much funding was poured specifically into ads and propaganda /against/ them and /their/ sources. idk if this is a thing outlets consistently report

i totally get where ur coming from but i'd like to add on, the reason we can't make tampons flushable is the same reason they're safe to use for a few hours- they're resistant to excess breakdown due to moisture + friction. to be flushable it'd have to be neither of these things, like toilet paper.

THIS i said basically the same thing. when our meat comes to us already processed, it makes it harder for us to understand the weight of what it took for that meal to get to us. i bet if a lot of the people who eat meat had to butcher an animal themself they'd swear off of it altogether.

if you find you can't stomach the thought of ending a living creature's life, then you probably shouldn't be able to stomach the outcome of that process either. whether it's by your hands or a worker's, a life was ended to feed you and you need to understand that.
