Bragging about using windows/macos (or fbsd?!)
Is kinda weird way to try to hype π
Not exactly, we don't have "less hair" we have the same amount of hair/fur, just it's much shorter in the most places of our body π€ͺ

There is not much new for me in the video, but the video describes Wayland very well! Totally recommend to watch, especially for "hardcore x11-ers".

07.11.2025 13:33 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Fudge, sorry. My bad on side of my english. Mixed up speed and robustness. I've meant speed.
But it's not only initial run, every separate run of firefox, drawio, etc. takes too long.
I'm most probably mistaking, but I was thinking that mandrake and mandriva has died out eons ago π³
07.11.2025 12:37 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Awww, Mandriva was very first of my distributives π₯°. Sweet memories π¬
07.11.2025 08:18 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Really?! And what do you think about robustness of opening browser or any other app from SNAP? :) not mocking, just curious.
07.11.2025 08:16 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Like "deb" is much better π (I don't like either of them "deb" and "rpm", still use Linux Mint, Arch, etc.)
07.11.2025 08:14 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Fair point π€π€π€
07.11.2025 08:11 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0"Never" is too loaded word for me in this case, but I would say "Alt Linux" or any russian distributive. I don't need KGB spyware on any of my devices (not joking).
07.11.2025 08:11 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Today, a federal judge ordered the Trump administration to use all of the funding at its disposal to fully fund SNAP benefits this month.
Not $0, not $12, not half, but 100%.
I say to President Trump: obey this court order NOW. Do not allow 16 million children to go hungry.
Awww, that's lovely! Congrats then π₯°

05.11.2025 14:12 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Try this one: "Right click the desktop on an empty place -> desktop submenu gives you the needed commands. You need to disable the auto-arrange feature."
This advice from here: forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.ph...
Check the link for more options if the advice didn't work out.
What kind of linux you have? And do you know your type of desktop (KDE, GNOME, XFCE, LXDM or sometging else...)?
03.11.2025 20:02 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0It depends on the type of desktop. The most of them disabling this on the desktop. But some of them allow to enable it (not sure, but I think KDE allows that).
So drag-and-drop works, it's just disabled in some situations for some use-cases.
Understood, thank you.
03.11.2025 18:30 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Well, sorry, then I can't relate to your experience. Is there something particular that causes that dislike of yours towards linux?
03.11.2025 17:58 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Windows will get even worse over time, so people will have to adapt. I would recommend just spend some time to play around there periodically, to get used to. It's just a matter of habit and experience, over time you will get so experienced in it - you will hate switching to windows...
