From climbing adventures at Summit Up Oldham and making cheesecakes and chocolate rice crispies at Mahdlo, to discovering where their fruit and veg comes from with Localfoodfirst!

Over the summer holidays, our Oldham, Tameside and Manchester care experienced young people came together for a joint hike trip to explore to B29 plane crash site in the Peak District. 🥾

One young person said ‘I am so proud of my legs for bringing me this far … I’ve had so much fun today!' 🌟

🎨 GMYN young people attended a creative ADHD youth voice session ran by artist Bethany, aka Fig Hous!

Our Bolton Care leavers took part in a Wellbeing walk at Smithills Estate in Bolton! 🌿

With the help National Trust guides, the young people took a walk through the beautiful woodland. One young person said “Going for a walk today really helped my mental health.”

A group of 14-17 year old young people from GMYN took part in a skateboarding and scooter training session at Projekts MCR! 🛹

None of our young people had skateboarded before, and they had lots of fun learning the ropes and showcased their bravery! 🌟

We wanted to showcase some more photos from our brilliant session with Plant MCR that took place during the Easter holidays!🌼

Eight of our young people had a go at repotting plants, cleaning out the local space and re-creating a little pond area - all in the very heart of Manchester city centre! 🌿

We're proud to team up with N Brown to launch ‘Level Up’✨, a life-changing work readiness programme providing paid training and work placements for young people across Greater Manchester.

In April a group of GMYN young people took part in an art session at Manchester Art Gallery as part of our MCR Social programme 🎨

They explored the painting of ‘Pandoras Box’ and discussed mythology and the role of stories in our lives! 🌟

Five young people took a trip to the N Brown distribution centre as part of our World of Work programme! The visit helped broaden their understanding of the different roles involved in a nationwide retailer.

🎉 Fifty young people from across GMYN took part in the Manchester Day parade! Waving their own hand-made puppets and flags, they danced and sang their way through the streets of the city. We couldn’t be prouder of all the young people involved 💙

A group of GMYN’s care experienced young people took part in renovating the Next Step building in Salford, adding their own unique artwork to transform the space.

They picked up new DIY and decorating skills along the way which they can use to put their creative stamp on their own homes! 🖌️

Tameside Care Leavers recently took part in Come Outdoors sessions, a series of three outdoor sessions to encourage young people to enjoy green spaces in their local area.

The sessions allowed young people to explore new parts of their area in a fun and exciting way! 🌿

As part of our MCR Social programme, disabled and neurodivergent young people got together to take part in a video game tournament 🎮

With prizes up for grabs, the young people had good fun battling it out on Mario Kart and other games, enjoying pizza and snacks on the side! 🍕

Inspired by the historic friendship between Roger Grey of Dunham Massey and Ethiopian Emperor Haile Selassie, Team Beeing explored themes of community and compassion through poetry which were then published in a booklet. Later, they proudly shared their work at a celebration event at Dunham Massey.💙

Over the May half-term our 10-16 year-old cared-for young people from Oldham took part a fun filled day! They started with a climbing session at Summit Up Climbing Centre, and then headed over to Mahdlo Youth Zone, where they played games and painted decorations for their homes! 🎨

🌞 This summer, GMYN is delivering a packed programme of fun, support, and connection for separated young people seeking asylum in Greater Manchester, through our Beeing Together project!
