It's vaccination time in our household! I got my flu and COVID shots last weekend at Harris Teeter pharmacy while grocery shopping at no cost--no appointment needed. Charlie and Daisy are getting their booster for rabbit hemorrhagic disease virus (RHDV2) this week.

I encourage people to watch this video. The selected footage shows the professor doing nothing even slightly out of line, whereas the student misinterprets the law and hopes to impose her religious beliefs on the material.

Administrators caving to this is terrifying.

The rabbits have come in with ticks and bot flies, were malnourished and dehydrated, and some had breathing issues and neurological problems. Most of the adult females were pregnant and gave birth. Some sadly did not make it. This is what happens when domestic rabbits are dumped outside.

If anyone knows a rabbit rescue that can take any of these rabbits, please let me know--we are also looking at rescues outside of Maryland. The current housing situation is not going to be adequate when the babies get bigger.

The rabbit rescue I volunteer with (Friends of Rabbits) took in 60 domestic rabbits caught outside on a farm. It will cost our rescue ~$200/rabbit (~$12,000) to spay/neuter and vaccinate them, on top of vet bills for many other health issues. We are overwhelmed and need support:

Loving Day – Loving Day is the anniversary of a historic court decision for interracial marriage. Every year on June 12th, it’s a global day of visibility, education, and community.

Good morning. Today we celebrate Loving Dayβ€”honoring the 1967 Supreme Court decision that struck down bans on interracial marriage.

It’s a powerful reminder that love can change the lawβ€”and the world. Here’s to progress, unity, and love in all its forms. ❀️

Johns Hopkins, University of Maryland want to support Harvard in funding lawsuit Johns Hopkins and the University of Maryland look to join 16 other colleges in filing a brief in support of Harvard University

Glad to see Johns Hopkins and the University of Maryland supporting Harvard as it resists Trump’s lawlessness and bullying. This is what leadership looks like.

Shame on those caving to Trump’s abuses of power and assault on our Constitution.

We called out Harvard in the past for inaction. So now we are happy to speak out with praise.

This is a major step forward.

It’s not just a lack of capitulation. It’s an aggressive effort leaning into public comms β€” exactly what is needed. Bravo to Harvard πŸ‘

YouTube video by Senator Chris Van Hollen If Bukele doesn't want to meet in D.C., I'll go to El Salvador to check on Kilmar Abrego Garcia

I've been clear: if President Bukele doesn't want to meet here in D.C., then I intend to go to El Salvador this week to check on Kilmar Abrego Garcia's condition and discuss his release.

Kilmar was illegally ABDUCTED and deported by the Trump Admin. He must be brought home NOW.

Of course he is πŸ™„

"Kennedy can’t order communities to stop fluoridation, but he can tell the CDC to stop recommending it and work with the EPA to change the allowed amount."

Layoffs include those in HIV/STD work, blood disorders, Office on Smoking and Health (eliminated entirely), work on miner’s safety (eliminated)

WASHINGTON β€” Today, the Departments of Education (ED), Health and Human Services (HHS), and the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA), announced a comprehensive review of federal contracts and grants at Harvard University and its affiliates. This review is part of the ongoing efforts of the Joint Task Force to Combat Anti-Semitism.
The Task Force will review the more than $255.6 million in contracts between Harvard University, its affiliates and the Federal Government. The review also includes the more than $8.7 billion in multi-year grant commitments to Harvard University and its affiliates to ensure the university is in compliance with federal regulations, including its civil rights responsibilities.
β€œHarvard has served as a symbol of the American Dream for generations – the pinnacle aspiration for students all over the world to work hard and earn admission to the storied institution,” said Secretary of Education Linda McMahon. β€œHarvard’s failure to protect students on campus from anti-Semitic discrimination - all while promoting divisive ideologies over free inquiry - has put its reputation in serious jeopardy. Harvard can right these wrongs and restore itself to a campus dedicated to academic excellence and truth-seeking, where all students feel safe on its campus.”
Today’s actions by the Task Force follow a similar ongoing review of Columbia University. That review led to Columbia agreeing to comply with 9 preconditions, links to an external website for further negotiations regarding a return of canceled federal funds. This initiative strengthens enforcement of President Trump’s Executive Order titled β€œAdditional Measures to Combat Anti-Semitism, links to an external website. The Task Force ensures that federally funded institutions uphold their legal and ethical responsibilities to prevent anti-Semitic harassment.

Linda WWF McMahon suddenly interested in freedom at Harvard

Trump and Musk now come for Harvard.

After Columbia did the cut and run, this was inevitable. The only answer for universities is to join together and say no.

Also, look at these lies. Anti-semitism is a pretext used because it draws some support from Democrats. This is an ATTACK on freedom.

Water fluoridation was a huge public health achievement--more on that here: publichealth.jhu.edu/2024/why-is-...

Neither article touches on the link between dental issues and school absenteeism. Removing fluoride from the water supply will widen existing disparities in oral health and education.
