I've accepted an offer for work.
I'll continue work on Exosolar but expect slower progress, less updates and at different times of the day.

I wanted to give players the ability to change the non-team colors, so I set up a color wheel.
A few other tweaks to UI and stats track as well.

There is also the accessibility aspect, the more response channels you can trigger gives more players chances to understand what's going on.

Every designer wants every player to see everything.
But the truth is, not every player cares about everything. And in a game where players may replay sections, they want to skip things.
With this in mind I added a skip cinematic option in.

Once the player takes a solar system, the enemy breaks up the blockade to protect the solar systems.

Then combat against a defensive enemy (Objective 3).
If the player goes head to head at the blockade, they will lose, but if they maneuver through the asteroid belts thin points and take a little damage, they can conquer the less protected solar systems (Side Objective Flank).
I did a top down for Mission 2 Part 1.
We start the player off in a safe spot to conquer their first planets in an asteroid belt (Objective1).
Then we show an objective ping and to introduce the enemy, the Void Rogers (Objective 2).

Everyone needs a hero, right?
In the Space RTS, I took inspiration from Halo Wars, and our heroes can be respawned when allies are in proximity.
Both the Spearhead and Void are heroes in the case below, and you can see both die and revive in the video.

I wanted to share the solar systems of Mission 2.
These were setup by Tim Dwyer and tweaked by me, utilizing the orbital tech from Imperial Eclipse. Visually, the full orbits are the white circles and belong to conquerable planets and tails belong to ambient objects.

We implemented an objective ping and objective reveal. Designers can optionally turn this on for objectives to give a player a little heads up where to go next.
