Ground floor is red painted Bar and Restaurant on Crispin Street. At the top of the second floor on the brick wall are the remains of a painted sign saying Nut Importers & Roasters.

One end of the Maida Hill Tunnel, which has no towpath, so we are looking down to the canal from the pavement above the side of it. Above the portal there is a restaurant, with a lovely view!
The other end of the Maida Hill Tunnel, which has no towpath, so we are looking down to the canal from the pavement high above the canal. There is a towpath visible below us which ends abruptly at the tunnel portal, but access to this has now been blocked.
Looking along the towpath as we walk beneath some flat bridges. It's fairly dark, but that makes for some dramatic reflections.
Looking back along the towpath as we walk along it, to view some benches and an ornate pedestrian bridge which crosses above the canal, to London Zoo.
Another new #UKCanals version of a @slowwaysuk.bsky.social route, walked with @rehctubynotna.bsky.social , this time from Paddington to Camden along the Regents Canal, through the zoo!

The Daily Mail has said it obtained "internal documents" revealing the Green Party's migration policy.
As a long-term Green Party activist, I'm very familiar with the actual policy. And what the Mail describes and what the document says are two very different things.

Old towrope grooves in the metal corner of a bridge.
Part of the side of a canal boat turned into a bar at Paddington. The boat is painted with colourful dazzle patterns.
View underneath a metal road bridge. Riveted underside of the bridge fills the top of the picture, paved towpath below. In between is a window of canal with lovely dappled reflections showing a blue sky, and a roofed but open pub garden. Several boats are moored further along the towpath.

London Eye from Westminster Bridge with a fine old 3-light lamppost in the foreground looking the same size. Also County Hall is in the background.
Statue of David Lloyd George with flying coat tails. Further away is a statue of Winston Churchill (a few days before it got paint daubed on it). Beyond that is Big Ben, and in the very far distance is The Shard. The pavement is wet and the statues, some pedestrians and Big Ben are reflected.
A view from the side along Westminster Bridge to Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament.

Inside the booking hall of Richmond Station. Square lampshades, Crittall windows, sleek straight lines, but curved glass at the sides of the doors.
Outside Richmond Station. Flat porch canopy with curved corners, flagpoles and supports in a sweeping style, blocky lettering.
A ghastly boarded up shop front with giant wheelie bins in front of it. But the the floors above are beautiful, in an Arts and Crafts style, I think. Next door is an M&S with Art Deco upper floors.
An ornate lamppost on Putney Bridge.
Tried out a new @slowwaysuk.bsky.social route from Richmond to Putney #London. Pictures of the two ends but in between was lots of Richmond Park and Putney Heath and not very much road. #ArtDeco #Railway #Architecture

Looking along a line of small trees, face on to the big wheel. It's a dark night and the moon is visible near the centre. The wheel rim and supports are lit up in blue, and the line of trees have golden fairy lights in them.

Tall vertical building stands alone on the Kings Road. Industrial looking and covered in sandy coloured 'toilet tiles'. It does have a bookshop at street level to redeem it.
View looking downstream along the Thames from Putney Bridge. The water reflects the blue sky. The tide is out and mud flats show on the near bank. A footbridge seen connecting Putney centre to the opposite bank.
Grey footpath, straight, between tall plane trees. Grass between the trees. Roehampton.
Richmond Park. A brown gritty path winds through grassland towards bare trees. Blue-grey sky. Didn't see any deer though.
More #SlowWays walks with @maryoz.bsky.social this week, Richmond to Chelsea via Putney and Fulham. A real mixture. Open parkland to busy highstreet; olive grove to views across the Thames.

Well-to-do terrace town houses flank a crescent road.
Wide grey path curves right around a building. A high green wall to the left with pale blue-grey sky. A streamlined aquamarine glass skyscraper inches middle distance.
Near Paddington Station.
Under the Westbourne Flyover by the Grand Union Canal. A triangle of sunshine shows barges and buildings. Above the dark underside of the Flyover, below dark shaded pavement.
Large Plane tree in Hyde Park close to Kensington High Street. Blue sky and surprisingly warm sunshine.
Very much a Spring day in London, #SlowWays walking with @maryoz.bsky.social Town houses, shops and canals. Hyde Park beginning to blossom in the sunshine.

The line of coping stones disappearing into the distance up the middle of the picture is the edge of the towpath, which is on the left of it. On the right, completely filled with trees, is where the water of the canal was.
An empty, overgrown lock marks the beginning of a section of canal with water in it, where it actually looks like a canal.
Towpath on the left, canal on the right, very overgrown with reeds.
An empty line of space between trees, from left to right we are looking along the towpath, coping stones, wide canal (all soil and fallen leaves, no water), and the stone far bank of the canal.
My @slowwaysuk.bsky.social #busandback also involved large chunks of the lovely but derelict #Manchester Bolton and Bury #UKCanals.

Cobbled footpath uphill between trees, a green fence, and some houses.
Wide earthen footpath through woodland.
A pedestrian and equestrian pelican crossing! Instead of a green or red pedestrian, the lights show someone on horseback. For a bridleway of course.
Looking along a very long viaduct, now a cycle track, heading into Bolton. There's a complete metal fence cage around it, disappearing into the distance, as there's a dual carriageway way down beneath it, out of sight.
I walked a @slowwaysuk.bsky.social #busandback from Bolton Station - bus to Radcliffe, walked a wonky semicircle through Whitefield, Kearsley, Little Lever and back to Bolton.

Approaching the church tower from a muddy lane. You can see right through the arch under the tower.
View across the road, through the gates, and straight through the tall, slim arch, which is three quarters the hight of the main part of the church, and half the height of the tower it's in.
Close up view along the side of the church on the left, with a red door and an old lamppost. The arch is on the right.
Looking up the tower, perspective view, with the arch appearing to take up most of it.
I found another #church with a huge walk-through arch under its tower or steeple! This one is All Saints in Whitefield, north #Manchester. #Architecture

There seems to be a lot of confusion around about which types of e-bike are legal. But the law in the UK is very clear, legal e-bikes are officially known as EAPCs. This stands for 'electrically assisted pedal cycle', and these bikes are restricted to 15.5mph, with a 250W motor, and no throttle.

Every year, we raise and kill around 76 billion chickens. That's almost ten chickens slaughtered for every person on Earth. It's also more than ten times the number in 1960, and almost twice as many as in 2000.
Part of this rise has come from gains in the "efficiency" of chicken production.

The Government is consulting on the biggest shake-up of planning rules since 2012.
But it remains weaker than what was in place between 1994 and 2012! That previous policy rightly identified traffic growth as damaging our towns, countryside and planet.
