Today is rare disease day.

A disease is considered rare if it affects fewer than 1 in 2,000 individuals.

I’m fairly blunt. It’s both my best & worst quality.

This rings true.

Life is hard.
I’ve been having one of those life changing conversations w/a friend tonight. Who has a seat at your table? Are they folks who add to your joy? Are they folks who just take? Surround yourself w/the right people. I choose to surround myself w/love & joy.

It’s strange to mourn a version of yourself that other people still think exists.

Yesterday the words were said out loud by another. “Your post concussion symptoms are likely permanent”. Unfortunately, I’ve been down this road before. It’s best to embrace & move forward.

Talk to your doctor or someone at AHS to find out.

I wish it was more age inclusive as well.

Looks like it’s covered from 9 to 26. It’s also covered for certain high risk individuals up to 45.

I was told that it wasn’t covered for me as I’m over 45. Not sure what you have to do under 45.

It’s not covered by AHS if you are over 45, but it was covered by my insurance. For me, it was a three dose series. Talk to your doctor and get a prescription.

Last night I had my final HPV vax at age 53. This is just a reminder that even though the 45+ crowd are over AHS’ recommended age range of 9 to 45, us older folks can still obtain the HPV vax to protect us against various cancers and other nasty things.
