I had a thought.

I have come to believe that kindness is often the result of trauma on the way to being healed. The most compassionate people I know have had to carry heavy burdens. They know the weight, and have decided to help others carry theirs. My favorite type of kind.

This little fellow came for a visit outside my window.

The silence of peace is sacred. Those moments between breath and pulse when nature can shiver your soul with a soft voice. See me. Hear me. Breathe me. It is why morning treads quiet with foggy breath and night falls soft with nothing but dew to mark it's path.

Deaths, the forced sterilizations of women, the refusal of officials to give children toothbrushes, soap or basic care, not to mention keeping track of where they went when they separated them from their families. Refusal to give flu shots even when doctors brought free ones with them.

The fact project 2025 wants to get rid of federal funding for PBS and Sesame Street should have killed it, but I don't think that part got out wide enough with all the other bs they were tossing. So frustrating.

They both came over to offer comfort, worried about their human. Sharing the floof love. She purrs, he pants, both want to make better, and then get back to the feedings.
