Libraries are so cool. Whenever I'm away from home and need a place to hang out between things, I find a library. There's a bathroom, a water fountain, chairs, and I can read, meditate, use the computers, or just be, and no one tries me make me buy anything.

41 yrs ago, 2 days after we buried my mom, & 1 day b4 my 17th bday I was going to my 1st concert!!! I was gonna get to see this mystical man, this beacon of coolness.

I adore the public library. I just put 15 picture books on hold for my kiddo, on trains (current obsession) and beaches (first visit soon). We'll pick them up after they're all gathered at our branch. This is free!

I'm doing a lunch-and-learn about a topic dear to my heart: Nashville's Civil War Fort Negley. Enslaved and free Black people built and defended it to achieve citizenship after centuries of race-based slavery. It went from being a ruin to a UNESCO site through decades of careful public stewardship.
