Build Long-Term Intrastructure, Not Moments ICE relies on exhaustion and isolation. Counter that. Sustainable actions • Offer ongoing skills: admin help, grant writing, meal trains. • Help orgs maintain databases, follow-ups, logistics.
Use Your Platform As A Tool, Not A Stage If you have reach, treat it like a scalpel-not a megaphone. Acceptable posting • Direct links to vetted orgs. • Clear calls to fund, volunteer, or attend specific actions. • Amplifying immigrant-led voices without additional commentary. Red flags • Self-congratulatory language. • Trauma reposting. • Centering your fear, anger, or "awakening."
Pressure Power Where You Actually Have Leverage ICE doesn't operate in a vacuum. Effective pressure • Local officials (mayors, sheriffs, DAs). • Employers complicit in raids. • Landlords collaborating with enforcement. Not effective • Yelling at strangers online. • Vague "abolish ICE" posts with no local follow-through.
Decide Your Risk Level-Then Act Accordingly Let's be honest, not everyone can do everything. Low risk: Donate, translate, admin support, childcare. Medium risk: Court accompaniment, community organizing. High risk: Civil disobedience (only with training + legal prep).
In addition to these suggestions, reach out to your representatives with phone calls (5calls.org) and/or emails. Take action in the way only you can be effective and encourage others to do the same.

The english sound effect is in an area with more dense line art, so it has an uneven outline made of the screen tone to keep the letters legible. Those outlines keep the tone contiguous with the art. White scraping is also visible.
There's a new English release of Mushishi, lettered by Phil Christie (@kernedout.bsky.social). I adore how Urushibara-sensei utilizes texture in her art, and how the sound effects inherit that texture. Phil does an amazing job replicating that with subtitled SFX. Notes in alt text!

Maybe there are two distinct kinds of belief: they either represent facts (It's rainy) or express identity (My son is the best). We find instead that many beliefs simultaneously represent facts and express identity (but few beliefs do neither).
