I was told that qualifications matter in this world. That the most qualified candidates are those that get the positions. This is no longer the case in politics, at least.

I will be happy to support James Talarico in November, but it’ll be because he earned it. Let’s get to work.

Yes, but it seems there’s some rhetoric floating around online about Texas that’s reminiscent to what happened during the “lily white movement.”

True! I’m ecstatic that we actually HAVE a primary race to talk about. It’s been electric here over the past few months. I won’t count either out, but I know my community in TX will have this question, and there’ll be questions for Jasmine to answer as well for the white evangelical community.

I’ve lived in Texas my whole life. If this did not work in the general election, it will not work in the TX midterm Election. People are set in their ways and will die on the hills to support their candidates. You have a better chance of getting better voter turnout than you do persuading ppl left.

I will say I’m skeptical about a freshman congressman entering the Senate. It’s not that it hasn’t happened before, but there’s no federal history with Talarico. Makes it hard to know where he will stand or if he could be swayed once in the seat. I already know where Jasmine stands though.

Nobody said it would boil down to racism, it will boil down to who can convince the Black and Latino Community to vote for them.

I believe we are ready if we believe it at the booth. And I believe we need to unpack why we believe Talarico is better for Texans in general when the diversity lacks at his rallies. The money is in Dallas, Houston, Ft. Worth, and Austin. I like him, but I don’t believe he’s the right choice.

I fear Texas will be in trouble with a Talarico win, b/c the Texas democrats are going to have a hard time explaining to the Black residents of this state(the largest Black population in the country), why they weren’t ready for Jasmine Crockett to make radical change for them.

We’ve never tried a Black Woman - so saying this is a moot point.

Wow. The U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem tells Americans they’re on their own.

There is only one primary race that I’m watching that will tell me whether or not this country is ready for radical change or not.
