I find having a rough outline makes it more cohesive and I donβt get stuck. For a novel I have a notebook of ideas and plans that I add to; I donβt always use them.

The βmodern eraβ is from 2005 to now, but you might want to watch the classic era, especially the 1970s. If you can access it (maybe on youtube?) try the episode Spearhead From Space.
