Opened Twitter for the first time in a while just to dig up this tweet of theirs I adore

And skills take time to develop. They take effort, focus. Drive. Even people with an inherent knack need to put in work if they want to reach certain levels of skill.

And now, more than ever, we have access to tools to help develop those skills. Free guides are everywhere. No one is being gatekept.

But creativity, like so many things, needs nourishment to develop. It asks for dedication, determination, patience.

And how one chooses to express it? Those are skills. Art, writing, song, dance, any way you can think of expressing creativity (and more beyond). Skills.

No one is without creativity. No one is incapable of engaging with it, turning it around and around and finding their own unique process and their own unique results.

That's the saddest thing I've seen in all of this. That people genuinely believe they are not and can never be creative.

The craziest thing about the ai bros argument of "gatekeeping creativity" is that it simply cannot be gatekept. Creativity is an inherent part of the human experience, and as varied as human life. It is fluid and dynamic and deeply personal—flaunted in all manner of art, and hidden in the mundane.

Wandered into this art gallery tonight and they've got a teen open call art exhibit on with two Genshin pieces and a Cookie Run Kingdom painting. Fanart featured in an actual gallery. Flawless.

When jerks do that "can you believe this" laugh while looking around, like they expect you to nod and agree with them being assholes to anyone in the service industry only no one does so they double down . 🙄

People really do mistake disappointment and, idk, emotional disconnect (that sense of "yes, logically I get why they did it but I'm still left emotionally baffled by them doing it") for a lack of awareness or understanding all the time.

I was going to make a joke about failing my wisdom save, but I've legitimately been sitting here mesmerized by the art and -gestures- everything about him for the past ten minutes.

Sort of Character Sheet of my original dungeons and dragons (2024) character, Naj'all Armgo, from house Barrison Del'Armgo. At the end of our game "The Wounds Once Made", he was punished by Lolth with the most dreadful of curses for a drow, to be turned into a Drider. Naj'all is a tall drow elf man, with long disheveled white hair, red eyes with black scleras and an ugly scar on his face. His jaw splits into two separate parts. His torso is attached to the bodyof a black-purplish spider with 8 spiky legs. In the top left of the image a portrait of his face, scowling at the viewer with an impassive expression. In the top right there are two Sava pieces he himself cut from onix stones. The Mother has toppled the Warrior. In the corner, a broken brooch from his former house from Menzoberranzan, Barrison Del'Armgo.

😩 I'm so sorry and I'm so tired of how often this happens now.

The cycle of starting a new game and holding my breath, hoping the community is chill (but this is the internet in 2025 so, really, what do I expect?)

I think I gave him something a little in between in my attemp, haha. The devs did an insane job with the sound design for everyone.
