I guess that’s how you can be a Democrat who wins a state that votes for Trump (albeit narrowly).

I couldn’t do it. But glad somebody on the pro-democracy side can.

Cooper did something in his acceptance speech tonight which was quite skillful. A journalist on MS NOW asked him whether Trump and the Republicans understood the cost of living issue.

And he went straight after his Republican U.S. Senate opponent while sidestepping directly attacking Trump.

Maybe now he can transfer some of that great courage he had as a soldier into having some courage as a politician. And can speak up against Trump when he’s wrong.

Roy Cooper was on the ballot for Governor of North Carolina when Donald Trump was also on the ballot for President - twice.

And twice, Roy Cooper won North Carolina while Trump won North Carolina.

In 2016, Cooper actually flipped the Governorship from R to D.
