Sorry to hear that.

A lot of people don’t understand that when you treat any part of the U.S. Constitution as if it were just a polite suggestion, all of our rights are in danger.
If the text that says that Congress has the sole power to declare war doesn’t matter, how can you insist that the Second Amendment does?
Chris Murphy: "We need to stand up for the American citizens that ICE is murdering, the kids they're terrorizing. They should stop this illegal war and they should stop ICE from terrorizing our communities. We should demand they do both things."

When he gets bored, he needs the stimulation of making things go “BOOM!”
But they said he was “The peace president.” 🥴

Our Constitution, which is still the basis for the rule of law in this country, says that CONGRESS has the right to declare war. Not the President. Not the Courts.
And for some partisan hacks who claim to cherish the Constitution, that doesn’t matter.
That’s a problem.
We have rules.
It’s not about whether you dislike the Iranian government or the Ayatollas (and let’s be clear, NOBODY likes the Iranian government. Not the population of Iran. Not the other Muslim-majority countries in the region. Not us. Iran’s government had been a global menace for 48 years).
It’s about rules
This is so deeply corrupt

Also, to the person who posted this, I’m not the “yall” (and it’s “y’all”) who you think you’re referring to. And I don’t need lessons from you, random person, on being black in America OR in loving, cherishing and protecting black women.
No go spew some uninformed sarcasm toward somebody else.
People are individuals, not just members of a group. And some individuals are unusually angry. Tlaib is one of those individuals. Not because she’s a black woman. But just because she comes off as intensely angry. And would come off that way no matter what hue or gender she was.

This is the danger of responding flippantly to people you don’t know with some standard-issue responses. I have the utmost respect for black women - including my WIFE, my MOM and more than half of the rest of my FAMILY. And, yeah, black women as a whole get unfairly tagged with many tropes.
BUT …
Well, this is at odds with his answer in which he says Trump doesn’t need to consult Congress.
The CONSTITUTION (Article I, Section 8, Clause 11) says that CONGRESS has the power to declare war.
Why not just admit that you no longer care what the Constitution says?
WELKER: If there is a war powers vote, will you be a yes?
SEN. MARK KELLY: Well, I'm gonna have to take a close look at it. I want to hear from the White House what their strategy is going forward. I would say at this point it's rather unlikely that I would be.
Khanna: "Clinton has set a precedent, a new Clinton rule. That means Trump should do the same -- answer questions -- and Howard Lutnick should do the same. I'm working with a Republican to subpoena Lutnick next week ... someone made allegations against Trump that she was sexually abused as a minor"

The Constitution gives the power to declare war to CONGRESS. Not to the President. It’s that simple.
Even in Iraq, Bush consulted Congress and got an authorization vote.
