Les Snead sounds like a GM ready to be aggressive to maximize Matthew Staffordβs window:
- Open to trading a 1st-rounder for a proven player
- Secondary a big focus β βIs there an All-Pro that you could add?β
- Trade talks are intense this time of year and theyβre having them
Les Snead said heβs been in touch with Matthew Staffordβs reputation and those conversations are in a βstable place.β
Meanwhile, they have not had those conversations with Davante Adams, who is also headed into the final year of his contract.
Sean McVay said the Rams and Matthew Stafford have had good dialogue as they work through his contract situation.
Stafford is entering the final year of his deal at age 38, fresh off his first MVP campaign.
Sean McVay said he βabsolutelyβ wants to bring Jimmy Garoppolo back as his backup quarterback if he can but also knows heβll have a market in free agency.

Sean McVay described the departure of DBs coach and assistant head coach Aubrey Pleasant as a challenging decision after 7 years together but that he felt it was best for both sides to move on.
Kliff Kingsbury is the new assistant head coach and Jimmy Lake is the new DBs coach.
Sean McVay on new assistant head coach Kliff Kingsbury:
βWhatβs intriguing about it is itβs been different from what weβve done. And just because itβs different doesnβt mean it canβt be better.β
Nathan Scheelhaase will be the offensive coordinator. McVay will continues to call plays.

Honored to place top 10 in Long Features at the Associated Press Sports Editors awards for the last big swing I took at the Indy Star.

Letβs break it down:

Time to rank the Ramsβ top 5 needs entering the combine.
No. 1 is pretty indisputable, but itβs interesting to size up the next four.

Aubrey Pleasant is no longer listed as a member of the coaching staff.
Jimmy Lake will take over as the defensive backs coach and passing game coordinator for the defense.
The Rams also hired Robert Woods as their assistant WRs coach, shortly after he retired as a Rams player.

The Rams finalized their coaching staff for 2026 season, including a title for Kliff Kingsbury:

We ran our first 32-team mock draft of the first round at @theathletic.com.
I made two picks for the Rams (Nos. 13 and 29) and went after help on both sides of the ball.
How'd I do?

Four Rams players checked in on the list.

The Rams signed WR Robert Woods to a one-day contract so he can retire a Ram.
Woods posted his retirement announcement on Instagram.
Woods wasnβt drafted by L.A. and played for 4 teams, but his best years were here β back-to-back 1,100-yard seasons and a Super Bowl ring.
Rob Havenstein announces his retirement from the Rams.
Havenstein played every single of his 161 career games with the Rams. He joined the franchise as a 2nd-round pick of the St. Louis Rams in 2015, started every game he played and won a Super Bowl in 2021.
The Rams have +800 odds to win next yearβs Super Bowl, per Bovada.
Thatβs second-best in the NFL, but No. 1 is in their division in the Seattle Seahawks (+750).
Feeling a little old seeing a player I covered in high school (Julian Love) and a player I covered in college (Kenneth Walker III) win the Super Bowl.
But also really dope to see those two make huge plays on the biggest stage.
Hell of a run for Seattle. Proof that a defense-first build can still be the championship formula even in a passing league.
