Kansas Invalidates Transgender People’s IDs After GOP Legislature Passes New Law The law, which goes into effect on Thursday, provides no grace period for the people it affects.

Transgender residents of Kansas have received letters informing them that a new state law requires them to forfeit their driver’s licenses if they include a gender marking that doesn’t match the sex identity they were assigned at birth.

Spending on policing (even excluding immigration policing) rose by over $58 billion (which is over 40%!) from just 2017 to 2025 during Trump's first term and Biden's term. People are not appreciating the incredible scope of these budget increases or what it is being spent on.

In some elite neoliberal circles, there is a developing view that grotesque levels of inequality/injustice can be controlled/managed more effectively with various forms of mass surveillance, policing, and social control through other systems (e.g. education, social media, tech).

This is the flip side of the hyper focus on trans issues by the right. The national media ignores what's actually being done to trans people.

This erasure is what contributes to the persecution.
