Hi Still Honest and Kitty. You're not the only one who can do a late change of mind. Was going to go The Who for my Token 1 but instead, here's Bowie with I Can't Explain

Ooh yes, I'd overlooked that one and it should be a contender. Saw JAPW last year and she's getting better still

Outside of their records and their shows I don't really think about musicians much but I often wonder how Howard Devoto is spending his day

My first piece for @toppermost.bsky.social - an overview of Doves in 10 songs. They've created some great music and never been afraid to share their feelings over the past 25 years. If you're a big fan or new to them I hope you'll find something here.

Good stuff as always from Lev. I hear Cetti's often in my local patch but very rarely see them. My first sighting though was on a guided tour of Rainham Marshes where our guide was halfway through the sentence "That's a Cetti's but we're very unlikely to see it" - just as it flew out in front of us.

Yeah it's funny now but just you wait until they've split into The English Lizard Wizard, King Gizzard's King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard and The Sugababes

They've also confirmed the date for the London festival in Feb 2027 (I'll definitely be getting a ticket). Magpie Arc have also just taken all their music off Amazon which is admirable.

Yes, the 4th festival organised by Magpie Arc at Cecil Sharp. I've been lucky enough to get to all 4 and they've been brilliant. Last year they also reconvened all the acts from the London festival for a second festival in Settle in October, don't know if they're planning to do the same this year.

It was. Part of a festival so a great contrast alongside the more traditional acoustic styles
