The improvements were so subtle and gradual that I doubt I would have noticed if I wasn’t looking for them.

Long story, but in 2011 during a particularly rough patch of my life, I got hit by a truck going 50km/h. I have always been a runner, but for years after that accident my knees hurt. I started running 5k races just to prove I could do it, and now I do it every year.

They’re such a joy to grow. We had some purple ones with yellow insides last year, I loved it. I’m already excited to plan next year’s garden.

Honestly feeling so lucky haha. 🥕

I also did not train. This was a bad idea haha. Managed to run 90% of the time but had a drop in blood pressure.

The first 5km race where I didn’t cry as I approached the finish line. I didn’t cry as I received my medal. Just joy and pride. 🎉
