Best (most vivid, engaging & life-enhancing) performance of an opera I’ve ever seen was an outdoor Mozart perf squished into a tiny village hall because of rain; cost £10. And I’ve been lucky enough (cultural upbringing, £££, musician friends & family) to see v fine opera in many ‘great’ venues.

November this year will be the 150th anniversary of Ruskin’s first little museum, in Walkley on the edge of Sheffield, welcoming its first visitors. He admired the skills of the city’s toolmakers and wanted to inspire & educate working people with the fruits of his travels and passions.
