Every once in a while, we get good news. 16th St./Monon will be undergoing a street safety project this Spring.
Without the efforts of passionate, everyday folks like Carlos, 16th St./Monon would remain a dangerous intersection that continues to injure our neighbors.

really cool stuff from Indianapolis based NEON architecture- 6 SFH on what was formerly two SFH lots, just steps away from the IndyGo Blue Line and the New York Protected Bike Lane

Zero visible/useable sidewalk on this street from week old snow.
Itβs time to start fining businesses and apartments immediately.
When affordable housing goes to a public hearing, people come out to oppose it for the wrong reasons; the idea that affordable homes bring crime, undesirables, or harm the character of a neighborhood.

Data centers pose health risks, place a big strain on the local water supply and electrical bills, and donβt make up for it with jobs or tax revenue.
Voice your concern by attending the public hearing, or emailing planneroncall@indy.gov.
Metrobloks wants to build a data center close to home.
The developer wants nearly 14 acres of land to build at 2505 N. Sherman Drive. Their plans include a 70-foot tall building, nearly twice the height allowed by local zoning standards (38 feet).

If DMD re-interprets Indy's Transit-Oriented Development ordinance, more gas stations will likely be built along BRT routes in the future.
Attend the meeting, mail PlannerOnCall@indy.gov and your city councilor to make your voice heard.

BT Manager John Connell testifies against an anti-transit bill in the Indiana House of Representatives Chamber
Legislative Warning from an Indiana transit agency: βA central Indiana Senator is forming arguments against transit funding in Indy, concerned that IndyGo's budget is larger than Indy's commitment to public safety. This may have implications around the state.β

Donβt want to boost my neighborhood too much but the change has been coming even outside of the typical neighborhoods: The Near Eastside of Indianapolis has massively improved over the last decade and a half.

Creating spaces for people, not cars, enhances the beauty, appeal, safety, and economic sustainability of our city. Weβre proud of how far weβve come, and have a tremendous amount of hope for future developments in Indianapolis.

Don't forget another important detail:
"The Statehouse's road-funding formula allocates gas-tax funds and other revenue by center-lane miles instead of lane miles, favoring roads with fewer lanes. But many Indianapolis roads are multi-lane thoroughfares."
ibj.com/articles/ind...
Just want to emphasize that the funding gap isβΌοΈPER YEARβΌοΈ and every day that we fail to act on that gap, it increases - because the roads degrade further AND become more expensive to repair.
We could put the entire city budget towards this shortfall for a decade and we would still not escape.
Yup, not just ordinary personal cars, big commercial trucks too! Wanted to include more info but Blueskyβs character limit π

Indianapolis is in a hole of infrastructure debt. Many of our roads are a financial liability instead of a useful resource for our city's economy.
Cars damage roads too quickly. The spare lanes need to be turned over to other mobility solutions (Bike, bus, scooter, etc)

Could Indiana expand its passenger rail?
If they did, where would you go?
What impact would it have on your life?
INDOT is conducting a survey for its 2025 Rail Plan, and they should know that citizens want passenger rail.

How TF does Indianapolis still have "secret votes" to approve gigantic data centers the community is opposing?
