Yea that's the point I was getting at, why waive them now if you don't keep ASP up? We've waived players before and kept them for a few games before sending them down, but that doesn't make sense in this situation. Everyone is healthy, don't need the cap space

I think waving Holl and Berggren makes the most sense at this point, keeping Gus makes some sense in case ASP isn't ready or struggles in a few weeks. Hamonic has outplayed Holl.

Well there's some d-pairings according to Ansar. ASP next to Johansson is encouraging, noting the lack of Holl. If ASP makes it, I wonder if the Wings carry 8 d, keeping Gus and Hamonic. Gus as insurance if ASP struggles.

Yea, that's my only worry for MBN. He's just a placeholder until JVR is back. Of course if he performs well like he has for the most part, might be really hard to send him back.

My theory that the Red Wings would be better this year was entirely built on the improvements of the team's underlying xGf% at 5v5 after McLellan took over last year. I reasoned that the finishing would improve. Coincidentally, the Red Wings are losing 1-0 while having an 80% xGF%

Mazur, MBN, Finnie, ASP, Wallinder, and Postava are the last rookies left in Red Wings camp. That means at least 1 of the forwards has made it, probably Mazur, but still hoping 1 of Finnie or MBN makes it. Can either of the d rookies make it? As it stands, 5 players need to be cut
