okay, Ill bite.
What do you think the point of reading for and writing a literature review is? The process of reading and writing is crucial for THINKING. Your ideas are shaped by all of this, offloading it to gAI, no matter how "good" you think gAI is at it defeats the purpose entirely.

Not true. I really don't want you to know what I have found! Seriously, do not go to my google scholar, read my work, or cite me!

Excited to share a new preprint that examines how adversity exposure across development is associated with subcortical-cortical structure-function coupling and youth mental health! ๐Ÿง

If youโ€™re working on:

- longitudinal designs (developmental timing + tempo)
- neuroimaging
- mechanisms of adaptation (resilience, recalibration, mismatch, stress acceleration)
- within-person dynamics, heterogeneity, person-specific change

...this could be a great home for your next paper!

03.03.2026 08:06 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 3    ๐Ÿ” 1    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Weโ€™re looking for work that moves beyond โ€œadversity โ†’ outcomeโ€ snapshots and interrogates time: timing, chronicity, sequencing, sensitive periods, recovery, and adaptation/resilience processes โ€“ย and how these dynamics shape neurodevelopmental trajectories.

The fictional horrors I grew up on are now dreams I long for.

Like please Judgement day come soon, bring your terminators and destroy humanity.

Day after tomorrow? Bring it on.

AI, Aliens, even a zombie-fucking-apocalypse, come ruin us please.

None of us can focus on our jobs and private lives.

We just want to live in peace and silence ffs.

As long as the elite own media, they can control the opinions of just enough of the population to keep them in power, and keep the majority fighting among themselves about issues they construct to blind us from the real problems.

I learned this when I watched the movie Antz as an 8 year old.

Netflix Backs Out of Bid for Warner Bros., Paving Way for an Ellison Takeover

The richest man owns X.

The second and third richest men control Google.

The fourth richest man owns Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp.

The fifth richest man owns The Washington Post.

And now the sixth richest could soon take over both Paramount and Warner Bros.

See the problem here?

I love the smell of peer review discourse in the morning

23.02.2026 12:35 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 8    ๐Ÿ” 1    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

I recently reviewed a paper where the corresponding author was SO blunt, bordering rude, & started every sentence like they hated me instead of "thank you my king for the comment", and I was like FAIR, I'm here to comment on the science, and don't have a micropenis ego that can't handle this tone.

23.02.2026 10:30 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 7    ๐Ÿ” 1    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

And why do we need to have this weird power play in which the authors need to completely lay down flat and humbly thank their reviewer for an awful idea and irrelevant comment as to avoid offending thy lord highness.

If a comment is not constructive, we shouldn't fear a rejection for disagreeing.

23.02.2026 10:27 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 6    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Yes! That is a fantastic idea.

23.02.2026 10:08 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 8    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Maybe we need peer reviewers that review peer reviewers for their conduct in peer review.

23.02.2026 10:05 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 3    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

There are many ways to Rome.

I don't understand researchers that respect their peers so little that they can't accept that the authors they're reviewing have a preference for how they'd like to conduct research. If it's *not wrong*, and has no gaps, you don't need to comment.

23.02.2026 09:57 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 13    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Peer review is not there for you to tell experts in the field how you'd prefer the style of the paper to be, or what method or analysis you have a clear bias for.

Your job is to check for correctness, spot errors or gaps, protect the integrity of the scientific method, not piss on others.

Maybe as I am writing my thoughts live here, I think I have come to the conclusion that if I ever have a lab with my own students I'd like them to experience MRI data collection + force them to go to FS & FSL courses before ever touching tabulated data.

03.02.2026 08:52 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 5    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Can't say I really feel like I neuroimager anymore, I'm more of a brain-imaging researcher.

Most of the PhD's I now know don't have any experience with non-tabulated data. It's probably not good for their training as neuroscientists.
