Willie Green has to have ALL of the bad records before he leaves.

Entertaining. Yet meaningless. For some reason they always play well against the Clippers. The Pelicans were well above their shooting on 3s, and the Clippers don’t really run or shoot 3s. So, meh.

Teams are averaging 124.2 ppg against the Pelicans during this losing streak.

The 2019-20 Pelicans opened the season 0-4, allowing 120 or more in each of those games, but stopped the bleeding in game 5.

The Pelicans fall to 0-5 after a 126-124 loss to the Clippers. They extend their losing streak to 12 games, one shy of tying the team record, set during the 2019-20 season.

Opponents have scored at least 120 pts in all 5 games. That is the first time in team history that has happened.

Firing Willie Green is necessary, but the prospects of a turnaround aren’t great.

Since 2012, 8 teams have fired their coach in fewer than 25 games. Of the 8, only 2 made the postseason:

2012-13 LAL: Mike Brown fired after 1-4 start, Lakers finish 45-37.

Can’t get back. can’t string together enough stops.
Can’t pass. Cant create enough easy baskets for anyone to get into rhythm.

Still they aren’t getting shots up. They knew they had to shoot threes against Boston and wouldn’t take them. Trey is taking fewer threes this season than last. The offense is doing them no favors either.

I guess that’s something.

To be significantly worse than a 21-win team is inexcusable.

Only Zion and Yves, who’ve both played only 2 games, have a positive +/- and net rating.

This team is slower than last season’s team. Everything is bad.
