Annika rightfully points out that though this is positive, this is going to SERIOUSLY burden an NIH staff that is actively being further depleted.
Be nice to your SROs, POs, and GMSs, folks...
CDMRP-funded cancer research was a strong commitment from the US that it cares about improving the outcomes for people with this terrible disease. The 57% cut to CDMRP highlights the total disrespect and lack of commitment from this administration to Americans with cancer.

There is SO MUCH RESEARCH that will simply NOT HAPPEN without these funds. We will be set back DECADES.
And for what? Greed. Hate. Spite.
I am crushed for the team at CDMRP that continues to support us, and for the work that will never be done.

This is what amounts to an ILLEGAL & indiscriminate funding cut for research centers everywhere. It will mean shuttering labs across the country, layoffs in red & blue states, and derailing lifesaving research on everything from cancer to opioid addiction.
We all need to speak out to save lives.
