Not sure. Not an expert, or even medium-informed, as regards the subject material. Seems like it would be a more clear cut case had he pilfered or through sketchy means acquired the info, but seems like it's a different situation when he "acquired" the info because they were all dumb asses.

Point taken. Probably true. In this day and age the legal jeopardy would no doubt be pumped up out of a sense of retribution. The laudable thing about his behavior and the ironic wackiness of the administration's top figures' behavior is that it wasn't the law that stopped him from reporting it-1/2
