'I don't care about Direct File': IRS chief says agency plans to end free filing program
Internal Revenue Service Commissioner Bill Long said the agency will end its Direct File program.
The IRS's free Direct File tool is now "gone," according to Trump's IRS chief.
This comes after tax prep companies like Intuit, the maker of TurboTax, lobbied the for years to block it.
Intuit donated $1M to Trumpβs inauguration.

Analysis: The US government has declared war on the very idea of climate change | CNN Politics
Americans are used to whiplash in their climate policy. The US has been in and out and in and out again of the key Paris climate agreement over the past four presidencies.
βIn his second administration, President Donald Trump is not just approaching climate science with skepticism. Instead, his administration is moving to destroy the methods by which his or any future administration can respond to climate change.β

(above an image of Trump) BROWN
JUST BECAME THE LATEST UNIVERSITY
TO CAVE TO TRUMP.
(next to an image of Trump) TO GET THEIR RESEARCH FUNDING BACK, BROWN AGREED TO:
#1 Enforce locker rooms "strictly separated by sex" - using Trump's anti-trans executive orders, erasing trans and nonbinary students.
#2 Ban trans athletes by redefining "male" and "female" under Trump's terms.
#3 Hand over admissions and discrimination complaint data - giving the federal government surveillance access to internal records.
#4 Run a government-approved
"antisemitism" survey - a tactic used to target pro-Palestinian student speech.
#5 Pay $50 million - the price tag for political obedience, dressed up as "workfoce development."
(alongside images of Trump and Brownβs campus) THIS ISN'T ABOUT CIVIL RIGHTS.
IT'S ABOUT CONTROL.
And Brown isn't alone.
Columbia and Penn already cut backroom deals. Harvard has started gutting DEl and LGBTQ+ offices and programs behind closed doors.
THE MESSAGE FROM TRUMP IS CLEAR:
COMPLY WITH OUR AGENDA, OR LOSE YOUR FUNDING.
CAPITULATION TO AUTHORITARIANISM IS UNACCEPTABLE.
YOU CAVE, WE CALL YOU OUT.
YOU RESIST, WE STAND WITH YOU.
If you're a student, alumni, parent, or faculty member - tell your school:
NO DEALS.
NO SURVEILLANCE.
NO HATE.
Brown is the latest elite university to cave to Trump. This is a line-in-the-sand moment for higher education. Every university in the nation is watching. Every student, faculty member and alumni network should be watching too. We canβt let this become the new normal: indivisible.org/resource/eli...

Judge Skewers Hochul Administration Over New York's Climate Law Delays
The judge suggested he'll rule that the state is violating its climate law.
Kinda funny that a judge can speak the truth about New York state climate policy -- it isn't enough, it isn't complying with the law, no, you don't get a gold star for trying, no, you don't get to make excuses -- in a way that virtually no journalist or other public figure will.
