Courts regularly "voluntell" counsel they are assigned to cases. Running my own practice, over the last several years when judges have called and asked me to accept appointments, I typically turn them down. But not sure I'd turn one down if the judge just sent ahead and did it.

To be clear, Trump's redistricting war is a direct effort to steal votes. Difference between this and 1/6 is he just has better lawyers. Don't know if Dems can succeed given the legal challenges, but I'm just glad they are trying. And we all know what Miyares will do here. Vote accordingly.

Virginia deserves an AG who will stand up for their fundamental freedoms, not block them.
