And I’m finally finishing up my script to pitch A Taste of Venus as an adult graphic novel. I’m going to manifest an agent and deal this year. I need an agent for my comics and nonfiction works.

Those are the little joys in my life. Books, family, weed. Now if I can get someone to hire me. I don’t even want to do journalism I want to narrative storytelling or internal communications. I can translate complex language for public consumption. I’m also really good at long form writing.

I’m kinda geeked that kids know who to seek out for book related things lol 😝

It’s read across America week! And one of my daughter’s friends asked me to be her literary adult this week. So after I leave my kid’s concert I gotta go to another school to have a read-a-long with a 10 year old. I’m so honored she asked me! I’m going to surprise her with books and treats!

I can’t tell you how it makes me proud seeing my kid be genuinely happy. It’s cold as hell outside and she’s just skipping and laughing to school. I’m so proud of her for making the superintendent scholar list, too! Next week is her scholar school breakfast.

I also have some mommy joy. The kiddo is being recommended for gifted and talented. Remember the art camp she attended last year? That might be her permanent school in September. We shall see. She has to take a test and wait for the result. If she doesn’t get in that’s fine she’s still in a magnet

I’ve never called myself a New Yorker either. I didn’t go to high school here and I think that’s a huge difference.

People with no connection to their roots always find a way to question someone’s loyalty to where they’re from. How sad of them.
