Unfortunately a big black dog chose that moment to stand up looking out the window with his front paws on the windowsill and blocked the view.

I was lining up a photo to put on my 'gram when this majestic beast jumped up and ruined my shot, but nevertheless its a fine night and a fine spot to sit in the dark enjoying the view with a wee dram.

(I dont have the 'gram, if I did I would have cleaned the window and not worn my gumboot socks )

Keep your eyes on some Aotearoa NZ people, many of us have clear skies and can take a good photo (i only have the first part covered)

I got a good one years ago of a blood moon and I freely admit it was pure luck, I kept changing settings and taking photos. One came out good. I had zero idea of what I was doing.
It was a warm night and I had more patience then.

Got no cameras working because i know you will get better shots than I could dream of so were just going to watch it unfold.

Cool thing about lunar eclipse is that its very slow, and predictable. We are used to aurora which are all 9ver the place and you need to keep your eyes open and on them because they constantly change, this is much more relaxing.
