With the passage of Prop. 50, I am suspending my campaign for Congress. I am continuing the fight through my organization Our Schools USA and by helping elect good people up and down the ballot across the country.

When I entered the race for CA-40, I knew our democracy was in crisis, and that our working families were facing insurmountable challenges. However, as a public servant, you have to decide where you best fit in as part of the fight.

With GOP lawmakers refusing to do their jobs, voting to cut Medicaid and now refusing to stop premiums from doubling, we are now seeing the hurt here at home. Our local Planned Parenthood is ending primary care, impacting 130,000 patients. We have to continue to fight back.

Ballots have dropped this week. Make sure to vote “YES” on Prop 50 and return your ballot by November 4!
