Four years of fire—and Ukraine is still standing.
From Zmiinyi Island to today, the message hasn’t changed. Thank you to everyone helping shield Ukraine's sky and save lives.

On my first day training new cadets, I received secretive orders to teach them to violate the Constitution by entering homes without a judicial warrant.

"In 1979, welfare benefits reached eighty-two out of every one hundred families with children in poverty. When TANF was first introduced, that number dropped to sixty-eight. By 2020, a mere twenty-one out of every hundred impoverished families managed to access this resource...That was on a national level. In Georgia, only five out of every one hundred families living below the poverty line received support through TANF in 2020, even though they were eligible for the assistance" (p. 137).

If you exclude healthcare jobs, the US labor market has actually declined for the past 24 months straight. And the healthcare coverage cuts have only just barely started to kick in.

Trump promised his tariffs would revive U.S. manufacturing, but we lost 88,000 manufacturing jobs last year.
Plus U.S. imports continued to grow and the trade deficit in goods hit a record high.
All of the chaos amounted to nothing but higher costs for you.
So much for the "Golden Age."

The NY Times dutifully reporting that the Supreme Court sided with Trump only 42% of the time and with Biden 54% of the time sort of leaves out the necessary context that Biden was doing normal, completely legal presidential stuff, and Trump was doing insane crimes

This art features 100 bees of various colors and shapes.
These bees are designed in a cartoonish style, based on real species. The common name or species is written below the animals.
Some bees are moving leaves, scraping plant hair, or sticking out their tongues. Some male bees have hairy faces and unusually shaped legs. There are also baby bees that have just hatched from their petal nests. Cute and colorful atmosphere. There are over 20,000 species of bees, so I only depicted a very small fraction of them!

So many of us here on the ground have been screaming but now that the media has moved on they are not reporting on it. Ice has not left. They have gotten more extreme and they are now doing things like this. They are hunting humans for sport
None of this has stopped its accelerated and gotten darker

That old saw about how "good times make weak men" is true in the sense that stable times with material abundance create reactionaries who want to destroy the systems that protect them because they're too sheltered and stupid to understand that things can get meaningfully worse.

I don't think a lot of people appreciate how much of their overall lifestyle and relative certainty is backstopped by a steady, boring stability of systems they don't understand or even realize exist.

True decadence looks like people who are three generations removed from the cultural memory of polio refusing to vaccinate their children against deadly communicable diseases because they don't like needles and don't think there will be any consequences, not queer
So much of our present crisis is coddled, ignorant, and short sighted people tearing down the institutions that protect them because they don’t understand that bad things can happen.

When Jerry Brown took over California (2nd time) the interest on the state's debt was over $3 million A DAY.
He left us with a surplus. Made a lot of people angry in the process, but he really turned the state around. That's all gone now.
Gavin is not our guy. Please don't be mad when we warn you.
