#OtD 3 Mar 2000 former dictator Pinochet returned to Chile a free man after being released by Labour home secretary Jack Straw instead of being extradited to Spain on torture charges. He got a hero's welcome, while protesters were beaten by police stories.workingclasshistory.com/article/1021...

Important new article from Drs Mayall, Hastings & Manns on the damaging implications of Alberta's legislation to introduce a two-tier system for *medically necessary* healthcare.

Essential to recognise that private streams *require* long public wait times in order to be profitable.

For both 2024 and 2025, the Israeli military was responsible for two-thirds of all press killings. “This shows the systematic pattern that Israel is using to silence the journalists, whether by killing them, targeting them, imprisoning them, intimidating them,

Le Québec est la seule province au Canada qui continue à défendre un modèle de pratique IPS centré sur la supervision médicale. La médiocrité est un choix. Mais c'est un choix qui coûte cher.

Nurse practitioner primary care program : program guide - Open Government

It ain't rocket science guys @fmoq.bsky.social

Primary care in BC needs structural reform
In 2026-27, spending on doctors is projected to increase by 9.3 per cent—the largest increase within the health care budget. But BC continues to increase MD pay, rather than offering structural reform like evidence-based community health centres 2/

A Mossad-Linked Israeli Org Is Trying To ‘Shut Down’ The Maple The organization has sent demand letters to Ontario law enforcement and global payment processors.

An Israeli org praised by the country’s politicians is trying to get @readthemaple.com shut down. Shurat HaDin has claimed to have issued legal notices to payment processors and written to multiple legal and police bodies “calling for a criminal investigation.” An abhorrent attack on the press.

For kids, you leave the dog and its tail alone. For real. Besides, why would a Valentine Day card have to deal with dogs?

Well you definitely wouldn’t talk about a “ queue” in a Valentine’s day post unless you’re going for porn vibes. There are words that drifted a bit too far from their original meaning to be safe to use. Baby cat anyone?

Do *not* put your kids in French immersion school programs. Because if you do, they might land a job at the Commissioner of Official Languages of Canada and one day write a post like this on FB... It literally says "My d**k and my heart race when I practice speaking my official second language" :-D

This shift is central to public health’s scuttling. A discipline meant to preserve and improve human lives loses its meaning in a world where those lives aren’t valued. Few people seem to recognize just how deep and rapid this shift has been.

I agree. I rode in Montreal for decades and I have been riding in Victoria for a while. There is a very obvious difference in the bike culture. How people dress, ride and behave. It's a completely different scene. Victoria has its own culture. But you won't see it if you are fully immersed in it :-)
