I've somehow managed to have never driven a car with either a CVT or a DCT. I'm not looking forward to owning either of them as well. Apparently fluid changes in them can be expensive.

You won't find a CVT in a Corvette, or any sportscar...

The CVT in the Crosstrek improved a lot with the 2016 model, don't get an older one...

Avoid 2014-2015 models with a CVT transmission, they fail. Get a manual gearbox if you can drive it.

I retired a few years ago, I'm watching investments. Safe isn't always so safe...the value of the US dollar is dropping so even parking it in cash or savings for long is losing.
I've also done so much better with Canadian dollars and stock market vs US, consider it...
