In fact, over the last 15+ yrs, the evidence of how climate change affects our health has only grown. Higher risk of allergies, dementia, fertility, heart disease, and death: thatβs whatβs on the line. @nature.org

people worried about sunscreens should just use zinc oxide
Itβs a classic look & itβs totally inert (itβs basically diaper rash cream) - and super effective
Zombie look at the beach is just a bonus π€£
Great book! Expounds scripture's teaching on healing divisions really well!

With the Old Breed is a great, haunting book. Made my 2 older sons read it when they were older teens, and plan to do the same for my younger son.
Other have also mentioned: All Quiet of the Western Front is great (I think the literal title translation is even better: "In the West, Nothing New")

Basically a beer-bellied dad would scream curses, thinking b/c he played pointyball or basketball in HS he knew better how to coach 9/10 yoβs playing soccer.
Sadly, saying βum, sir, these kids are 9 & 10β didnβt tend to shut them up. Nor did βum, you canβt do that in this kind of footballβ¦β π₯΄
Itβs pathetic.
My dad stopped coaching my soccer teams after I was in 4th gr for basically the same issue (and when he moved down to coach my younger sibs heβd quit after 2nd or 3rd gr).
Mind you, this was in the 80βs, when most white US suburbanite patents had NOT A CLUE how soccer was playedβ¦

I told her my heart was glad her mind immediately combatted such obvious error

DR and his daughter are going on about βDonβt you want to be rich? Wanting to be rich is good! Well, in this video, weβre going to teach you how to be rich!β
After playing this segment, she turns around and looks at us and says - βwhat about β those who desire to be rich fall into temptation, β¦
The incident that sealed my opinion of DR was when one of our older kids was in a high school coop - and for one class they did a DR teen video series. Our daughter is watching the intro, and is shocked - βmom, dad - look at this!β

Sounds like a fantastic reason!
Glad to have you as part of Buckeye nation! π
Mr Ortlund - I greatly appreciate all your wise books/podcasts/etc.
And as a Columbus native and an Ohio State grad, I share your love for the Buckeyes!
But I am curious: how did a guy who grew up in southern California and went to Wheaton end up an Ohio State football fan? π
esp. relevant, since earlier in chapter 5 Peter exhorts shepherds to lead their sheep gently & not for personal gain...
And there's a variety of other times God uses the imagery of lions to pronounce woe on the greedy/unjust, or the Psalmist calls out to God to rescue him from lions, etc, etc
