We switched off from UK news in August while visiting my partner's family in Canada. Drove home from Gatwick after an overnight flight and both the motorway and our town was plastered in them. Chilling.

Buses in our region are affected by strike action but where should we direct our anger? Not at the bus drivers, but at the bus companies and at politicians, both local and national, who have not done enough to support public control of our public services. southglos.greenparty.org.uk/2025/09/17/b...

Whether for love, work or to flee danger - people move. Always have and always will. It's the govt's job to make it work - but instead the failing Home Office wastes taxpayer money treating migrants like criminals. Time for something new - my report with

More of Keir Starmers "tough decisions."
Perfectly happy to protect the wealth of the super rich.
What about protecting nature?
We're in a biodiversity crisis - and these years we're losing are devastating.
Govt trying to tell us that the only way to tackle the housing crisis is to bulldoze over nature & local communities so developers can build build build. But what are they building - the affordable homes we need, or the ones that make them the most profit?

01.05.2025 09:42 β π 5 π 4 π¬ 1 π 0A poll from YouGov showing the Green Party's Mary Page in 1st place in the West of England.
And despite Labour lying on their leaflets and saying it's a race between them & Reform with the Greens in 5th (?!) - YouGov polling suggests this is your best chance ever to deliver REAL CHANGE for the West of England. The Greens can win tomorrow.

It shows Green Party in the lead, polling at 27%, with Labour polling second on 23%. The poll puts Reform on 18%, the Conservatives on 17%, Lib Dems on 13% and Independent on 2%.
Today's YouGov poll puts @mayorslayer.bsky.social of @greenparty.org.uk in the lead in the West of England mayor election. If you live in this area please vote on 1st May!
25.04.2025 22:32 β π 7 π 2 π¬ 0 π 0Interestingly, our regional mayoral election is being described as a five-way marginal, which is not a situation we've really had in the past in British politics. And pollsters and bookmakers have us narrowly in the lead so watch this space!

Don't forget that you need photo ID to vote on 1st May. Today is the last day to apply for emergency photo ID.
23.04.2025 08:54 β π 2 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Could the next Mayor of the West of England be from @greenparty.org.uk? The pollsters think so, and so now do the bookies!
So, please to vote for Mary on 1st May. And please do share our social media posts and help us reach as many people as possible.
And get in touch if you want to help.
Thank you. We'll pass on your best wishes. Encouraging comments really do make a difference to all the team.

To those people, I say: please know that I stand with you - today, tomorrow and always. The Green Party continues to support a policy of self-ID to allow trans people to live full lives free from harassment in the gender they know themselves to be. The judge emphasised in his speech that trans people are still protected under the law, but it is for government to now demonstrate how this will be achieved. I will work closely with human rights and LGBTIQA+ groups to understand the consequences of this ruling, and will not hesitate to press for changes in legislation if it is needed to protect the humanΒ rightsΒ ofΒ all.β - Carla Denyer MP, Green Party Co-leader - MP Bristol Central
