Here’s my life-highlight moment when I met him right after he won his Oscar for Beginners in 2012.

I’m sad to hear about Lalo Schifrin. I interviewed him for EW in 1996 and asked about his iconic Mission: Impossible theme in 5/4 time. He said, “I always say that things are in 2/4 or 4/4 because people dance with two legs. I did it for people from outer space with five legs.”

Please allow me one last shot from this weekend because sharing the stage for an hour with the most Oscar-nominated living director was quite special. When I met Martin Scorsese he said “I feel like I already know you” which pretty much made my year. He’s a wonderful friend to @tcmtv.bsky.social.

Shout-out to the guy in the middle who stepped in on short notice to make our TCM Pop-Up Film Festival x 92NY such a wonderful experience for our fans. I know I’ll never forget chatting with him and the equally fantastic Drew Barrymore about E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial.

NYC bound 🥶 for the Oscar nominations! I’ll be on the Today show tomorrow morning at 8:45am and again at 9:00am. I’m rooting for Anora, Emilia, and Timothée…how about you?
