It is but I also appreciate they had to do something completely different to justify their approach... and they have done but the result is more catching up with some retro futurism that lands us in the 90s view of a future utopia rather than the 50s view we see more often.

I've found a dangerous world of things people have already designed to try assembling too... Logo light boxes.

It's a fair wedge of money even if I know I'll use it until the bearings give up. I did look at the P1S and X1C but knowing they've got their new CoreXY printers on the way I didn't want to spend that much for one which didn't integrate the learning from the A1.

Oh now there's an idea~ Tiny hands but with different species paws.

I know it's a bit extravagant to buy for myself but I'm loving the Bambu Labs A1 so far. The degree to which is Just Works™ isn't done justice by reviews and user reports.

C is the classic jetpack approach but B looks far more comfy.

There's definitely some inconsistency in the quality of the books they offer. I know they're working with what the audiobook publishers produce but I do wonder if they'd be better not offering an audiobook of something if the content is a bit rough around the edges.

Welp, that was worth doing even if I already had my filament profile setup with 5C of what this tower is telling me I should probably be at. 245C on the first layer and 250C after that it looks like. Part cooling was in the right ballpark too!

After a couple of days of dialing in I think I can call that a good first layer for PETG. I can tell the bed levelling isn't as consistent as it I'd like but it's still manual until I can get this new X carriage and tool head printed.
