Watch Visions of Escaflowne (the movie, not the show) -- its central theme is depression and suicidal ideation and the main character reckons with her own depression by seeing it writ on a larger scale in a dying world. Truly a beautiful piece, and probably useful for this kind of project.

If you are signalling appropriately, the vast majority of the community will recognize you as belonging there. It's not difficult. And this is about dressing + behaving queer -- I'm not talking about who you're kissing (or not) at the end of the day!

Ultimately a lot of the discomfort from bi and ace folks about "being part of the queer community" comes down to signalling. If you are dressing and acting queer, you are letting everyone around you know what community you are in.
