OpenAI admits AI hallucinations are mathematically inevitable, not just engineering flaws In a landmark study, OpenAI researchers reveal that large language models will always produce plausible but false outputs, even with perfect data, due to fundamental statistical and computational limi...

OpenAI ”acknowledged in its own research that LLMs will always produce hallucinations due to fundamental mathematical constraints that cannot be solved through better engineering, marking a significant admission from one of the AI industry’s leading companies.”

It's funny that this was posted to Anon Opin, as most people with a withering disdain for sport are usually only too happy to publicly exhibit their far more rewarding hobby of rolling their eyes at you and saying something about "sportsball"

''Acadian Seaplants, a massive Canadian corporation and owner of Arramara Teoranta, has put in an application to harvest tens of thousands of tons of wrack from huge swathes of the west coast.''

Sign the petition and lets stop this from happening ✊️

I'm convinced AI is our generation's radium - a discovery with genuinely useful applications in specific, controlled circumstances that we stupidly put in everything from kid's toys to toothpaste until we realised the harm far too late where future generations will ask if we were out of our minds.

Use of Irish airport for US deportation flights to Israel called β€˜reprehensible’ Irish politicians condemn use of Shannon airport by private jet en route to Israel, owned by Trump donor Gil Dezer

Forget 'reprehensible'; this is a stain on the Irish state. Of course, the issue is not new, but if we are serious about human rights, we need to stop the use of Shannon for these flights.

Brussels.

The EU Commission will take tougher measures against the artificial intelligence chatbot Grok on Monday.

The Handelsblatt learned this exclusively from three high-ranking EU officials.

Specifically, it will open proceedings under the Digital Services Act. In doing so, she wants to force the company xAl to withdraw the chatbot in the European area. It is accessible, among other things, via the social media platform X.

The Al chatbot can create sexualized images and videos of real people without their consent at the request of users - even of minors. The chatbot had then spread them via X.

Therefore, Grok is under criticism worldwide. Both X and xAl belong to US entrepreneur Elon Musk.

Originally, the EU Commission wanted to open the procedure last Monday. Then, however, she stopped the process because the Commission initially wanted to coordinate its action against the additional punitive tariffs announced by US President Donald Trump, as the Handelsblatt reported.

On the previous weekend, Trump had threatened to impose additional tariffs on some EU countries if there was no deal in the annexation of Greenland he planned. In the meantime, he has withdrawn the threat.
