I've been attempting unseeded high score (naneinf) runs on #balatro. Today, I had a perfect start (Ante 1 Perkeo + later Baron/Mime). I felt unstoppable.

But then I saw The Plant.

I'd bet there was an earlier Luchador that could have saved the run.

Include your players more when session planning!

The purpose of the DM is to tell the story the players want to be a part of. Take their thoughts & ideas into account, ask them questions related to what you're planning, w/out giving away the details!

It's not an actual play (although there is some roleplay), but @killeverymonster.com is informative, funny, and smart! It satisfies my DM hunger for ways to use and adapt monsters in interesting ways

My favorites are bard and artificer at the moment (love a great support caster), but I love monks and rangers! They're underrated for sure.

My favorite FF has gotta be FF6, but I've enjoyed Remake/Rebirth and 12. 10 is on my list!

For Echo Strike: Maybe instead of subtracting 1d4 from the damage, you could make the damage die smaller (mace 1d6 -> 1d4, morningstar 1d8 -> 1d6)? Either that or you just don't add your ability mod to the damage

That way, players won't be bummed about having to roll to lower their own damage!

This is a really rad idea! It's giving me Monster Hunter switch axe vibes. I love how the weapon's properties aren't just a boring +1 to hit
