I was hoping Howie could work some magic with Blankenship. It's really frustrating that so many high-priced, underperforming offensive pieces (Dickerson, Jurgens, Brown, Hurts, Barkley) are preventing the Eagles from keeping valuable defensive pieces (Williams, Phillips, Reed, Nakobe, etc.).

It's absurd. I genuinely wonder if the Eagles are going to set a compensatory pick record. The number of picks from last year's losses, this year's losses, and next year's losses (Ojomo, Hunt, Smith) speaks to the absurd quality of the 2024 roster. That was an all-time team.

I'd be stunned if Brisker was cheaper than Blankenship.

I know the Eagles have limited cap space, but they are going to feel the losses of Nakobe Dean and Reed Blankenship. Not only did Dean and Blankenship bring a physical edge to the defense, but they were also the brains of the operation. I bet replacing them is more difficult than we expect.

Howie’s screwed. How’s he going to pay Carter, DeJean, and Mitchell?

Mojtaba Khamenei, a son of Iran's late supreme leader, is chosen to replace his father A secretive figure within the Islamic Republic, Mojtaba Khamenei was not seen publicly in the days after an Israeli airstrike targeting the supreme leader’s offices killed his 86-year-old father atΒ th...

It is reported that Iran selected Mojtaba Khamenei in part because Trump said in an interview that he was "unacceptable" to Trump.

So Trump has ensured the person running Iran is *more* theocratic and hates the US for killing his wife and father. Well done, Donald!

You know as well as I do what he was accused of. Don’t bother being coy.

I've been genuinely impressed by Davis as a person. I think he has shown himself to be thoughtful, selfless, and well-adjusted. I also really admire that he seems to have a sense of joy and cheerfulness that people benefit from being around. I've really enjoyed seeing more of his personality.

We are dealing with Nazis, again. The Nazi ideology pops up again and again throughout history: the confederacy, Haiti, the internment camps, the Indian boarding schools, the Indian reservations, Gaza, etc., etc., bc it is the logical end of the capitalist ideology. It will ALWAYS produce camps.

All of which is to say that when the Trumpers talk about non-white immigrants, the "misguided" (to quote Mike Johnson) Muslim faith, a holy war against Iran, children in the workforce, the enemy within, the social safety net, and an AI-future with no white-collar jobs, YOUR HAIR SHOULD BE ON FIRE.

There's a reason why the gates of the most notorious concentration camps said "Arbeit macht frei," which means "Work Will Set You Free." The concentration camps were about race-based, faith-based, and ideology-based extermination, but they were also about slavery and the extraction of forced labor.

Holocaust victims were imprisoned on the basis of their race and religion, as we know; the religious and bigoted rhetoric of MAGA strikes that familiar chord. But Nazi Germany was also a hyper-capitalist, punitive police state that criminalized vagrancy and overpunished petty criminals.

If you do the slightest bit of research into the Holocaust and the basis on which the camps were constructed, the hair on the back of your neck should stand up. The political rhetoric of Trump Republicans is in LOCKSTEP with that of the Nazis. We live in dark, scary times.

These are concentration camps. Don't think that these aren't concentration camps simply because there aren't gas chambers. The Nazis began to build and operate camps in 1933, but it wasn't until 1939 that they began gassing their prisoners. This is the path we're on.

At Largest ICE Detention Camp, Staff Bet on Detainee Suicides, AP Reports Camp East Montana has received several 911 calls in the span of five months about immigrants trying to harm themselves.

Staff at the nation’s largest Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention facility have placed bets on which detainee will be the next to die by suicide, according to new reporting from the Associated Press based on 911 calls and detainee accounts.

Still, I think Carter's the type of talent that you move mountains to appease, and if I were an opposing GM, I'd be WAY more inclined to spend a bag on Carter than Maxx Crosby, for example. I'd really, really hate to trade him, regardless of the return.

07.03.2026 21:41 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

We know that Carter was disciplined for being late in 2024. We know, of course, that he spat on Dak and was more or less suspended for a game. We've seen him get into dust-ups with Sirianni on the sideline. And we've seen him try to incite/challenge opposing players to fights pretty frequently.

I don't know where the "smoke" came from, exactly, but I get the sense it's coming from people I wouldn't call reliable.

Still, my ears are perked up a bit. I love Carter and the edge he plays with, but I wouldn't be stunned to learn that he's a real problem behind closed doors.

I understand Jordan Davis's importance to the structure of the Eagles' defense and how his play benefits the linebackers behind him. Still, if the Davis extension precludes contracts for Jalen Carter, Jordan Phillips, Nolan Smith, or Jalyx Hunt, I'll be disappointed.

07.03.2026 21:27 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Still, seeing "highest paid nose tackle of all time" next to Jordan Davis's name is wild to me. That is largely owed to a skyrocketing cap, of course, but I'd also argue that his pre-draft fanfare and first-round status still influence the cost of Jordan Davis's contract, which is a bit inflated…

07.03.2026 21:25 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

I'm going to take Jordan Davis's extension as an opportunity to yap, since I have long been a critic of Jordan Davis. The Jordan Davis we saw in 2025 is absolutely worthy of an extension, and I am increasingly of the mind that Jordan Davis is an important/needed personality and leader.

07.03.2026 21:13 β€” πŸ‘ 4    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 3    πŸ“Œ 0

There’s no chance the Eagles are moving Jalen Carter unless things are much worse behind closed doors than we know. You can pay Carter and Davis. You have to. Carter makes the defense go.

We either do it ourselves, or the rot continues to expand until someone else takes us to account. I'd rather do it ourselves.

Hegseth needs to stand trial after this as a war criminal. Between this attack and the girls' school, there's no ambiguity. He is responsible for mass murder and must be held accountable.
