I'm always willing to experiment with different books and read new stuff. I'll check those out! Right now Crash by J.G Ballard, and The Hellbound Heart by Clive Barker are my inspo. But Toni Morrison and Octavia Butler always influence my style.

Where do your inspirations come from

Anxiety, jealousy, and failure exist in those spaces BECAUSE of Humanity, bc we're just like everyone else. And that can be taken advantage of. In "Her Dark Pleasures" being the #polyamorous or #queer isn't the horror.

Denying our feelings so we score moral points and selfishness is the horror.

Writing about #lgbtq #polyam is great, but some folks will be angry if you don't give the "right" representation.

The #nsfw #WIP is grotesque and it's about the anxiety of failing at being understanding, or having a hole only a God or a dangerous dominate #kinkster could help you fill...and it's the most sexy and violent thing I have been apart of. And it does make me worry but I love it. #booksky #amwriting

This reminds me of one of my favorite interviews where the white supremacist basically said that the only reason Asian test scores are higher than whites are because white people are lazy. The exceptions are morphed into a mythology that further justifies authoritarianism

Dude those are just rum balls after the sugars settled instead of staying in powdered form towards the end. I'm going to guess or not rum based since it's an office party but that's a pretty old school and common thing even in the black community

What's interesting about writing the story I'm co-writing is the original draft are already written and it's becoming this larger story so in a way it's already outlined but it's getting beefed up so themes are a lot more horror driven

-combatting mental health challenges
-Editing Mangrove because the book order changed then unchanged
-Co-writing a queer polyam erotic horror novel

So Donald Trump has the aesthetic of someone who thinks they have class because something looks sparkly and shiny, and I want to see what happens when people realize he has the same aesthetic as 45+ something year old working class brown aunties who have mirrors everywhere

Spooky Season Nonfiction to Add to Your TBR Since the Reanimator Mysteries sit firmly on the morbid side of research, I have acquired and read a lot of nonfiction books that are great for the Halloween season, so I thought I would share them…

I made a list of some of my recent favorite spooky and morbid nonfiction.

A lot of "protests so nothing" talk on the left offers none of these steps, in fact they offer no ideas beyond leftist defeatism or lack an understanding that American politics make general striking life threatening for many people in our current system

-Providing community resources for furloughed workers
-Voting organizations helping people making sure they can vote
-Pro-Union groups doing outreach and education
-discussion& planning next steps
