It would be really nice. Can think of a few people who would be good fits.

That’s Washington House Rep Michael Baumgartner who supports the fascist lie to strip birthright citizenship from millions.

He’s an eager fascist and we should never forget it.

Where the Left Went Wrong on Homelessness Reclaiming this issue could mean reclaiming power for the progressive left.

A friend just asked me about the Seattle Mayor race and said β€œI’m not sure about Katie Wilson because she refused to answer a question regarding homeless encampments in parks” and it was a great opportunity to share The Stranger article she wrote in January answering that very question.

The death of Halloween in America is pretty sad. The most neighborly, high-trust holiday we had is a shadow of its former self.

She’s Never Run for Office Before. She Could Be Seattle’s Next Mayor. Katie Wilson is drawing comparisons to Zohran Mamdani. Though she has a thinner political record than the New York sensation, she’s on the doorstep of City Hall.

I think somewhere in the article mentioned, or maybe it was elsewhere, if that you don’t go with the bubble, you lag the market and that just won’t do for clients. So β€œsmart money” follows the crowd.

I think the Big Short illustrates well how professionally risky it was to deviate.

Today I'm calling on @governorferguson.bsky.social to declare a state of emergency: the expiration of SNAP benefits for nearly one million Washingtonians will be a disaster for the health of many, and for the economic health of the state. We must join other state governments and act swiftly.

But I think my larger point still stands that the opportunity exists if leadership is willing to seize upon it. In a more immediate way than any other path forward I have seen. Do I think it’ll happen? Probably not. Certainly not if teachers like me aren’t vocalizing for it.

I think the 92% left-leaning membership of the NEA is kind of all over the spectrum. The president of the Renton Education Association is an open socialist. The organization itself is certainly Dem Party affiliated here.

There is no immediate path to a general strike. There is a path to a labor strike that dramatically impacts life in America from Day 1 on. But national labor leaders need to be bold enough to take the risk.

Given that America deeply relies on the education system for childcare, it would mean chaos in the private sector as people were forced to call out. It’s not without risks, but any labor power we have is use it or lose it. Public unions might be outlawed by 2030.

30.10.2025 15:22 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 1    πŸ’¬ 2    πŸ“Œ 0

My counter to this is that the the largest union in the country, the NEA (+ AFT) is 92% left-leaning and could materially disrupt society tomorrow if its leadership was willing to organize a national teacher’s strike.

I'm trying to understand what he's suggesting here. Hasn't Malaria spread to new areas as the climate has warmed? Every .1 degree increase represents a worsening of drought, famine, disease, etc. He should know that.

We have a tendency to portray the Trump Regime as a black swan. But the Trump Regime is part of a long conservative project committed to re-entrenching inequality wherever possible. The fortification of a rigid multi-dimensional caste system is centuries in the making on this continent.

It was, and is, an inherently fascist project. The transitioning economy provided a horrifying opportunity for ownership to stomp out labor’s power. And 40+ years later, here we are.
