Spoke with an anon source who had an interesting insight into Visa policy. Per a convo with their bank on the Steam/itchio situation today, Visa put new restrictions into place due to a new "government policy." The exact phrase used by Visa. No specific country was listed as the source of the policy

My case is supposedly being escalated again, though I do not expect to hear anything back. Surprisingly, Mastercard reps were much more receptive than Visa reps.

Just got off a 31-minute call with Mastercard. The supervisor was very nice. I spent time correcting his errors, explaining why the public statement that MC issued was full of half-truths and lies, and offered myself up as a resource for their escalation team... one that isn't a right-wing bigot.

I refuted that with the news that Valve has tried to communicate with Mastercard, but has been shut down.

I am now waiting for a supervisor.

I had them add the Vile: Exhumed situation (dreadxp.com/vile-is-bann...) to my ticket as proof of how their improper application of the company's policy is doing harm to creators.

He tried to spout the "we haven't reviewed anything" line.

They aren't even willing to let you speak at this point. They will just continue reading so they can get you off the phone.

They are definitely tired of this... but we need to show them the only way out is to clean up their policy.

Visa is now actively shutting down calls regarding their censorship and prohibition of the sale of legal product.

They clearly retrained their staff on how to deal with our calls. That doesn't happen unless there's critical mass.

KEEP IT UP. They are trying to turf the calls as fast as they can.

I think it needs to be pointed out as well that Visa is clearly losing money off these calls clogging their systems and still thought it was worth the money to re-train their employees/contractors. They're not scared enough to drop the issue altogether, people need to keep calling and snail-mailing.
