Always great to see work focused on adolescents. This paper looks at SLPs’ approach to communication assessment of adolescents who have mental health concerns. #SLPeeps

 342 Winners in 26 Years!

Every month since June 1998 Speechwoman has selected a speech-language pathology / speech and language therapy related site of the month. Sometimes it is not so much a site, as a page, blog entry or resource within a site that is worthwhile celebrating here.

If they wish, awardees may display the Speechwoman logo on their winning site, post, page or resource (scroll down for two versions of the logo).

Warm congratulations to all Speechwoman's winners, including those whose hard work has "gone" from the Internet!

Jackson, E., Boyes, M., Blundell, B., Hirn, J., & LeitΓ£o, S. (2025). Managing cyberbullying among adolescents with neurodevelopmental disorders: A scoping review. International Journal of Speech-Language Pathology, 1–16. https://doi.org/10.1080/17549507.2025.2451305

"This [MUST READ] scoping review examined and mapped existing evidence related to the management of cyberbullying among adolescents with NDDs. Most research involved exploration of strategies that are already used by adolescents and other key stakeholders, and generally these individuals demonstrated broad knowledge of strategies and shared knowledge of how to mitigate the issue of cyberbullying. Key strategies included measures for preventing cyberbullying, like managing online privacy (often with parental input to mediate online activities), as well as responding to, or intervening in, cyberbullying through measures such as blocking and reporting. Further research should explore the specifics of the education that they have received and the effectiveness of such strategies (e.g. via systematic review and meta-analysis), in order to identify where research and intervention resources should be dedicated moving forward".
