My pick for our @theathleticfc.bsky.social 100 players to watch at the World Cup feature: Iliman Ndiaye

Been a joy to witness the Everton man's dribbling & ingenuity in a PL otherwise dominated by physicality & set pieces

Saw those quotes but long way to go before we get to point where Sky being challenged over here. And lots of hurdles for PL to overcome

We have spent far more time than we should have done debating these pretty basic points. And it is pretty frustrating. Have been trying to understand the motivation and mealy-mouthed approach

01.03.2026 13:47 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Have found the responses a bit bizarre, tbh. Even this one. Fine to disagree - followers of the same club often have different opinions too - but there's been some strange pushback on bits I would consider to be obvious, including responses from those at game etc...

Remarkable but LFC fan so not in good faith

01.03.2026 13:05 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 2    πŸ“Œ 0

I've seen far more in line with mine tbh. Mostly from neutral observers rather than LFC fans like yourself!

so you're disagreeing with what I saw at the stadium and the reactions of others in attendance, including rival fans, players and managers?

01.03.2026 12:06 β€” πŸ‘ 7    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Really struck being inside the stadium by the speed at which the ball was travelling, Pickford's quick reactions and the strength needed to tip the ball onto the bar and over. It was stunning and you will be able to gauge reactions from players/fans behind goal/managers etc

01.03.2026 11:59 β€” πŸ‘ 5    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 2    πŸ“Œ 0

Childish is a good word to use for someone so blinded by partisanship that they cannot see what is right in front of them. The only ones downplaying the save seem to follow a rival club. Funny, that.

But thanks - will have a good day. You too!

Jordan Pickford just made the β€˜save of the season’. It was no surprise The goalkeeper's incredible stoppage-time save ensured that Everton took all three points in their quest for European qualification

On the save of the season so far and Jordan Pickford doing Jordan Pickford things

Thank you mate! Thought they just about deserved it. First half better than second though

Jarrad Branthwaite makes a massive difference at centre back. Better Mykolenko when he's next to him. Adds air of assurance and much-needed pace

Some away win for Everton. Handled the physical battle and overcame setbacks. Key displays from likes of Beto & Mykolenko

Great noise throughout from the away fans - Jordan Pickford song ringing around St James' Park at full time. He'll have enjoyed that one!

Everton's match against Arsenal at Emirates Stadium will now take place on Saturday 14 March, with kick-off at 5.30pm (GMT).

The clash has been brought forward due to Arsenal's UEFA Champions League Round of 16 match against Bayer Leverkusen on the following Tuesday.

I'm saying Branthwaite is quicker and almost certainly gets to ball first to clear. I don't think Keane did enough to block the pass. But just to reiterate, I've listed three things there above. All feed into it and all mentioned in piece

26.02.2026 16:28 β€” πŸ‘ 4    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 2    πŸ“Œ 0

Three things:

1. Mbeumo beats Keane
2. Sesko beats Tarkowski
3. Not enough cover to ward against counter

Branthwaite almost certainly makes better fist of 1. 2 always going to happen. 3 needs remedying for future games

26.02.2026 16:13 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 1    πŸ’¬ 3    πŸ“Œ 0

be fascinating to see that tried

Agree with what? I'm not advocating staying positive. People obv free to think/feel what they want!

Understand some of the frustrations. Still a lot of time left in season and that will ultimately define whether success or not

26.02.2026 10:26 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Think the most obvious explanation for his absence is still the most plausible. That IGG/KDH came back late Jan and they are more trusted by the manager

26.02.2026 10:19 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Yes, even if it were true, would still not make a whole load of sense, right? Surgery was in Nov and he started games *after that. Moyes was glowing post Villa, club put Rohl up for media duties afterwards. IMO, not what you would do if you had something to hide

26.02.2026 10:18 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

not sure it's even worse. it's better for Armstrong's development that he plays (anywhere) rather than being on the bench and you're more likely to keep a talented young player happy that way. think he's been fine wide but team lacks width. and he is obv a better CM

26.02.2026 10:02 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Mentioned in the article that can be about personnel *and* structure. They left themselves very short

26.02.2026 09:56 β€” πŸ‘ 3    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Moyes is solid and deserves credit for the upturn in fortunes since he returned. They look far more stable now. But don't understand lack of width, square pegs in round roles etc, or why Rohl etc fallen out of contention
