lowkey just connected the dots that me being relentlessly bullied as a kid is what spawned my fear of trying new hobbies/interests bc i was afraid of being made fun of for being bad at those new interests which is what lead to me being as stunted as i am ohhhh it all makes sense now waow

"ooo look at me i made space marines nearly unkillable bc its lore accurate im so smart" great job enjoy watching these basic infantry units take 1 minute just to kill a single squad in the early game

but all it takes is one genius who thinks they know everything about game design to dial down the damage on a firewarrior's pulse gun a bit and suddenly an entire faction is unplayable

like if youre modding an fps like doom or half life you can kinda just throw whatever you want at it and have an alright time even with a mediocre mod

after diving into the world of dawn of war modding ive come to the discovery that its very very easy to make a good rts bad if you have no clue what youre doing
